There is a better way…
- A bunch of the time is spent by the host prattling on about their philosophy of networking, why it’s important, or how to do it, taking up half the event.
- The host takes up most of the time pitching their program because the networking was really just a hook to get you to a pitch.
- Some speaker prattles on about some topic. Sure, if might be good information, but every minute spent listening is a minute not spent networking.
- The breakouts are nothing but a parade of people awkwardly rambling through two minutes of incomprehensible introductions and life stories.
How about this classic intro?
I help entrepreneurs, authors, speakers, coaches, and subject matter experts to make more money by effective strategies and tactics because they’re tired of working too hard and not making enough money. 🤡
Even if you can figure out what the people in the room do, you realize none of them have anything to offer you because most of them just stumbled into business and they can’t even pitch you let alone help you.
If you have suffered through these events, then you owe it to yourself to join us for JV Connect
JV Connect
Just Valuable Connections
December 10-11
JV Connect doesn’t mess around
I built this event to be the most effective networking space online. Every minute you are at this event you are either meeting people, learning about opportunities, or setting up follow ups.
The magic formula is our 8 Second Introduction and 23 minute breakout rooms.
No Homework
Yeah, I said you set up follow ups during the event. You will not leave JV Connect with a bunch of people to follow up with. You will leave with appointments on your calendar.
And not just a few. This event is designed for you to book 8-30 calls with high value people who will improve your life and/or business.
How Does It Work?
JV Connect is jam packed with high value breakouts that are fun and easy to navigate for both experienced outgoing networking masters and shy introverts.
The key is that we put 11-15 people into a breakout for 23 minutes, then we use a simple but powerful 8 Second Introduction.
Everyone introduces themselves with a simple and powerful 8 Second Introduction in this format:
You know how…(Problem)?
What I do is….(Solution)
There are 11-15 people the room so that there are enough people that the less confident networkers can sit back and observe. They can reach out comfortably in the chat if they’d like to connect with someone, while the more confident folks lead the conversation.
No one has to awkwardly fill time. No one has to listen to them. But everyone is welcome to contribute if and when they want to.
In this way, incredible connections are made in every breakout.
Your Money’s Worth in Just 3 Hours
We have had many attendees tell us that the breakouts are so value packed that by the time they’ve been at the event for three hours they have gotten much more value than they paid for.

Reasons You May Think You Should not Come and Why They’re Wrong
For the following, I’m assuming that you’re an entrepreneur, business leader, expert, or professional looking to grow your business or advance your career.
If that’s not you, if you know everyone you need to know, if you have nothing to learn from others, and if you have nothing to offer, you don’t need to attend.
For the rest of you….
“I don’t have time for a two day networking event”
This is an objection I hear exclusively from entrepreneurs who are struggling. They can’t pay their bills but their calendar is so full of whatever they fill their time with that they can’t make time to meet the people who might have the solutions they need.
Most people spend 2 or more hours per week at networking events at which they get, shall we say, mixed results. That’s 24 hours per quarter.
JV Connect is 12 hours over two days during which you will meet 8 to 30 or more awesome people who can be prospects, partners, mentors, solution providers, and even friends.
Believing you don’t have time to attend a high quality event like JV Connect, you waste far more time going to all the other events
“I can’t afford it”
JV Connect is $90, and some people say they can’t afford $90. Here’s the thing. If you actually can’t afford $90, you don’t have a business yet. That’s just a fact. Businesses have cash flow, and $90 isn’t a lot of cash.
But for most people who say this, what they really mean is “I don’t think it’s worth it.”
You don’t think it’s worth it because most networking events you’ve attended have been free and worth every penny.
The people you want to meet know that time is worth more than money, so they pay money not to waste time. They know that if people need to pay to be there, they will meet higher quality people!
They’re not at those free events, but they are at JV Connect.
What about those people who really don’t have $90 because they really don’t have a business yet?
If that’s you, and you’re in the catch-22 of not being able to connect with good people because you can’t afford to meet good people,
email me and let’s see what I can do for you.
“Why pay for JV Connect when there are so many free networking events?”
Because most of them suck.
There’s an old saying: if you’re not paying then you are the product.
Why would someone put on a multi day networking event for free? Because they are very generous? Because they want to give back?
Malarkey. They want to sell you something. So the cost of the event is wasted time and lower quality attendees.
Wasted time because good networking doesn’t set you up to buy, so they need to have plenty of “teaching” and guest speakers to get you in the buying frame of mind, then of course they need to pitch you for an hour.
But what’s worse is that the people you really want to meet: the real experts, the truly successful people, your best connections, these people know that the event is just an enrollment event…so they don’t attend.
When you finally do get into a breakout room, the people you most need to meet aren’t there!
“I Don’t Know How To Network”
You don’t think you know how to network because you have attended bad networking events.
Networking is the most natural thing in the world: Meet people who can help you, provide value to them, build a relationship, support each other.
You’ve been doing that all your life with friends and family, but you’ve been taught that networking is somehow difficult or mysterious, then attended poorly run events full of distractions and the wrong people.
If you are a good person doing good work in the world who likes to make the lives of people you meet better, then, when you attend JV Connect, you’ll discover you’re already a good networker.
Will you join us or be left out?
Now it’s up to you.
Will you spend a couple bucks to attend an event that is built to be the most powerful possible networking experience online? Or will you keep wasting your time in the wrong events with the wrong people.
All you have to do is click the purple button.
Before Any Event Planners Get Offended…
I’ve been pretty harsh about other networking events on this page, so let me be clear before someone gets all cranky.
I’m not saying all other events are awful. There are some really good ones out there. There are especially some good recurring networking meetings. 1-2 hour events with some good people there. Those groups are great if you want to commit to monthly or even weekly obligations.
But a single event where you can spend a day or two and get pure, non-stop connections? I’ve never seen anything with a ticket price under $1,000 where you can do that except JV Connect.
Every other event I’ve seen either has a bunch of speakers or a big pitch or entertainment or something else that distracts from the real reason we’re there: to make great connections.
So, if you are offended because you run a networking event, and you think I’m painting with a broad brush, I am probably not referring to your event.
If you run a “networking” event that isn’t mostly networking, then, well, I might be talking about your event.
And if you run an event that you don’t call a networking event but contains a little networking, I’m not talking about your event at all.
If you don’t run an event, thanks for reading all the way to the bottom of the page, even past the part that applies to you.
Who Runs This Thing Anyway?
Hi, it’s me, Michael Whitehouse, The Guy Who Knows a Guy. I’ve been an avid networker ever since I walked into my first networking event in 2014, not knowing anyone, no job, no business, nothing to sell. When I started introducing mayors to CEOs to community leaders three months later, I figured I might have found something pretty cool in this networking thing.Since then, I have leveraged my love of making connections and a desire to provide value to create a global network, connecting people six continents and dozens of countries.
I am the author of The Guy Who Knows a Guy, and I have run over 50 highly interactive virtual events including four previous JV Connect events. Got questions, comments, or want to tell me you’re offended by something on this page? Email me at michael@guywhoknowsaguy.com |
